Is insurance included?

Yes! All prices quoted on this website have Full Comprehensive Insurance already included within the daily rate.

But just like your own car insurance there is a liability fee. This is the amount you are liable to pay in case of an accident - your fault or not.

The good news is that you can pay an additional daily surcharge to reduce the liability.

Avis

Avis has a standard liability of $3,000 to $5,000. This can be reduced to between $300 and $750 by paying an additional amount (excess reduction) per day.

The daily rate payable in respect of excess reduction is dependent upon the age of the hirer, the type of vehicle hired, and the location of hire.

Europcar

Europcar has a standard liability of  between $4,255 and $5,060 for their compact 2WD & standard 4WD vehicles. This can be reduced to $1,150 by paying an additional $29 to $34.50 per day or to $575 by paying an additional $34.50 to $40.25 per day.

Their Large 4WD and people carrier vehicles have a standard liability of $5,430 which can be reduced to $1,725 by paying an additional $34.50 per day or to $862.50 by paying an additional $41.40 per day.

Their Prestige vehicles have a standard liability of $7,130.00 which can be reduced to $2,300 by paying an additional $34.50 per day or to $862.50 by paing an additional $41.98 per day.

If you are wishing to take any of these options please advise upon collection of the vehicle.

Budget

Budget has a standard liability of between $3000 and $4000. This can be reduced by up to 90% (approx $300 ) by paying an additional $25-$28 per day.

Please Note: Excess Reduction / Budget Driver Protection is only available to renters aged 25 years or older

Hertz

Hertz has Accident Liability Reduction which reduces the Accident Damage Liability from $3,450 to $0 by paying an additional $29.90 per day.

For 4WD, Minibus and luxury vehicles there is an Accident Damage Liability of $4025.00. this can be reduced to $0 by paying an additional $35.65 per day. If you are wishing to take any of these options please advise upon collection of the vehicle.
